Founded in 2007, Ex'Odd is originally the result of Grégory Baldoureaux (guitar), Christian Dutto Engelmann (drums), Magus Obeiro (synth and saxophone), and Sylvain Massaïa (bass) improvisations.
Very soon, a whole sound universe came alive, compositions began to come thick and fast, and gigs ocurred one after the other.
In 2008, they joined the bands' collective "Collectif Jas'Rod", in which they established some contacts. Incdentally, Christian, Gregory, and Sylvain join the "mouv'art" association, and "antre2live", the association in charge of the "Jas'Rod" concert hall.
In August 2009, they went to Portugal to perform some gigs. As for 2010, the year was overloaded with events ! First, a new member join the band : Mickael Bertoncini who settled behind the synth. Then the band travelled to Japan for a little tour.
Afterwards, Magus Obeiro left the band, due to musical divergences.
Therefore, at the beginning of 2011, after a few months without lead instrument, Laure Bonomo (violin) joined the band.
Consequently, a recomposition work began : the saxophone lines were entirely reviewed according to the electric violin sounds. Some performances followed, as the preparation for the first LP.
The latter was then recorded at the Black Whale Studio, except for the drums which were recorded at the Deven Prod Studio, between november of 2011 and february of 2012.
The official release took place during the international rock progressive festival "Prog'Sud".
The LP is distributed by the prestigious "Muséa Records" label.
In 2013, the band went into a composition phase, in order to produce a second even more personal LP, in which every member of the band would have participate from the beginning to the end.
However, at the beginning of 2014, Christian Dutto Engelmann (drums) unwillingly had to leave the band.
Alban Gautier is the one to take his succession.
